I had a dream about cats. What does it mean?

I had a dream that my mom, my sister, my husband, and I were all taking a vacation in the country, and we were driving around the hills and enjoying the scenery; and we stopped at a shopping plaza to do some errands. We went to a pet store at the plaza and I got a pet mouse, and then all of a sudden a small grey kitten got into the car. I said, "Get the cat out, it will eat the mouse!" So then my husband picked up the kitten and threw it out the window. My mom, my sister, and I were all shocked and worried that the kitten was hurt or killed; and then my mom (who was driving the car) drove away, and we continued to drive along the road in the countryside. About half an hour later, I said, "Maybe we should turn around and go back and see if the cat is okay." My mom didn't want to at first, but then finally my husband and my sister both decided to go back and she turned around, and then I said "No, I don't think we should go back after all" and my mom got frustrated and decided not to go back; and got onto the highway to drive home. I said, "Mom, why didn't you go back for the kitten?" and my mom said, "Because you told me not to!" and I said, "But I made a mistake, I meant for you to go back for the cat." Then when we got back to the house, there were five cats (all adult) sitting in the front yard and staring at us. They were mostly black and white but i think one was all black. I can't remember if it was my house or my mom's.
