Why are people in Scotland friendly towards minorities?

There are sporadic incidents of abuse and stuff but all in all scottish people complain less about minorities unlike english people who are just complaining all the time. I know minorities comprise only 2% of the scottish population but still in big cities like glasgow there are large minorities such as Pakistanis. In Glasgow there are around 30000 to 40000 Pakistanis.
