What will happen if a person pepper sprayed a poisonous snake, trying to attack?

Would they come @ u more or would they back down? I'm deathly afraid of snakes. I was attacked by a non-venomous pet snake. & I heard that my twin sister has seen a lot of green snakes in her neighborhood & one was right by her doorstep.
